The Nominating Committee is asking you to step up and nominate yourself or another NYLA member for one of our open Council positions this election cycle!

2024 NYLA Council Position Openings

• President-Elect (Representing School Libraries) - This is a 3 Year Term which goes as follows: President-Elect (Nov 2024 - Nov 2025) | President (Nov 2025 - Nov 2026) | Immediate Past President (Nov 2026 - Nov 2027)
• Councilor-At-Large (Representing Academic/Special Libraries) - This is a 3 Year Term which begins Nov 2024 and ends in Nov 2027
• Councilor-At-Large (Representing Public Libraries) - This is a 3 Year Term which begins in Nov 2024 and ends in Nov 2027

Nominating yourself or another NYLA member for one of these positions is a great way to step up as a leader in the Association as well as a resume building and leadership development opportunity. All role responsibilities are outlined here. Also, if you are not selected by the Nominating Committee, we will always reach out to those who expressed interest for other ways to get involved in NYLA based off of your initial application. 

Nominations will be accepted until 11:59 pm on Monday, March 11th. Selected candidates will be notified by late March. The NYLA Council Election will run from June 1st - June 15th.
