Friends of Libraries Section | NewsletterFriends News and Notes is the newsletter of the Friends of Libraries Section (FLS). FLS became NYLA’s eighth Section at the NYLA Annual Membership Meeting on November 6, 2014, replacing the Empire Friends Roundtable. Beginning in 2024, Friends News and Notes will be produced as a digital document in odd-numbered months and posted on the FLS newsletter webpage. Newsletters will include information on FLS announcements, professional development, awards, scholarships, events, etc. Friends News and Notes is a valuable resource -- for Friends groups, library staff, and community volunteers working to support their libraries -- with articles on fundraising, membership engagement, board and volunteer management, and more, including ideas that are replicable and scalable.
