2008 NYLA Annual Conference & Trade Show

Saratoga Springs, New York | November 5 - 8, 2008

Final Conference Program  (pdf - 3 MB)

Rosina Alaimo and Bernie Tomasso and the 2008 NYLA Conference Programmers invite you to join the Library Community of New York State.

Connecting, Collaborating, Cooperating

Librarians connect people and information; collaborate across types of  libraries to maximize resources; and cooperate with each other to maximize the value of the services they provide their clients.  Whatever your library type you will find many fine sessions for your professional growth and development at the 2008 NYLA Conference. There is a President's Program track of programs that exemplify the conference theme.

NYLA's sections, roundtables, committees and affiliates worked diligently to organize and present a wide range of experiences. From highly specialized presentations, to programs that will appeal to everyone, there is no shortage of quality information.

Special Events & Featured Speakers

General Opening Session Keynote Speaker - Lee Rainie

Conference Farewell Luncheon Speaker - Russell Banks

Vitality Fund Event at the Hall of Springs
Inaugural Celebration at the Saratoga Hilton

Exhibits

Visiting the exhibitors on the trade show floor is one of the best ways to find out about up-and-coming technologies and new products. Our vendor colleagues make the conference possible, so please stop by as many booths as you can to thank them for coming and to learn more about their latest wares.

Fun in Saratoga

For the adventurous, Saratoga has many fascinating historic sites and museums to explore. From Saratoga Historical Park, to the National Museum of Racing and Thoroughbred Hall of Fame, to the unique Bottle museum, Saratoga Automobile Museum, Tang Museum, the wonderful Children's museum or the NYS Military Museum - Saratoga has so much to offer you. IMAGINE A PLACE... THAT IS LIKE NO OTHER... where American style, grace and history is seen in every charming street corner... heard in the sounds of hoof beats... and held in your heart forever.

RSVP Today!

If you have attended the NYLA Annual Conference before, then you know this is an event not to be missed. It is the one time each year when the New York library community comes together in one place to learn and share. If you have never attended, then make this year your first!
