A Message from the President...
2013 October e-Bulletin President’s Report, from Sara Kelly Johns
The role of NYLA President is made up of many parts. Part of the presidency is to keep NYLA organizationally strong to better pay attention to the needs of the members and the profession. Part is to have a focus that moves NYLA’s membership ahead. Part is to be a spokesperson for the organization. And part is to lead NYLA through the surprises that happen that are compelling to the profession (there is always at least one every year.)
Hunter College Libraries – Main Campus Library 3rd Floor Renovation
The Main Library, consisting of nine floors in the East Building of the Hunter College campus at 68th Street and Lexington Avenue, is undergoing a “phased capital renovation” over the next several years. As of September 2013, phase one is complete with the opening of the new 3rd Floor.
