Susan Goldberg, formerly of the Locust Valley Library, has been appointed the new Director at the Elwood Public Library.

John Hammond, the Executive Director of the Northern New York Library Network (NNYLN), was elected to be the new Chair of the New York State Regents Advisory Council on Libraries.

Scott Jarzombek, former Director of the Pawling Free Library, is the new Assistant Director of the Danbury Public Library in Danbury, CT.

The Madison-Oneida BOCES School Library System received a Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund grant from the New York State Archives. The "Igniting the Common Core with Local Historical Records" grant will be used to offer professional learning opportunities for school librarians and teachers on integrating local primary sources into curricula in support of the Common Core Learning Standards.

Peg Mauer, former Information Services librarian with the St. Lawrence Lewis BOCES School Library System, is the new librarian at the Tupper Lake Goff-Nelson Memorial Library.
 
METRO is the recipient of an award under the Library Services and Technology Act and the New York State Library to fund a new round of Internet Archive digitization projects. The new program will once again subsidize the digitization of materials in METRO library collections focused on metropolitan New York history and culture.

Gail Pepa, formerly of the Deer Park Public Library, has been appointed the Director of the West Babylon Public Library.

Donna L Phillips, achieved national board certification in school library media from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards and is now serving the Hamilton and Van Corlaer elementary schools in Schenectady.

Karen Porcella, formerly Assistant Director, was appointed the Director of the Peninsula Public Library.

Pratt Institute School of Information and Library Science received the ALA Cutting-Edge Technology Services Award for employing cutting-edge technologies in the provision of library services. The award was given for the school’s work on German Traces NYC, a mobile, augmented reality experience designed to let learners explore German cultural heritage in New York City.

Michael Squillante, formerly of the Elwood Public Library, has been appointed the new Director of the Bay Shore-Brightwaters Public Library.

Mary Trev Thomas, former Head of Technical Services and Circulation at Bethlehem Public Library, has been appointed the Library’s Assistant Director for Operations.
