Congratulations to non-NYLA members on their accomplishments!

Elly Shodell, Director of the Port Washington Public Library Local History Center, has received a 2011/12 Fulbright Specialist grant in the field of Library Science.

Panama High School Library has been rededicated and renamed for one of this Western New York town's most famous sons: James H. McGraw, founder of the McGraw Hill Publishing Company. In a ceremony that took place September 12, 2012, James H. McGraw IV, president of McGraw-Hill Research Foundation presented a portrait of his great grandfather to the school and also gave the library a collection of McGraw-Hill resources.

Jessica Clemons joined the staff of the Moon Library at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She has accepted a tenure track assistant librarian position where she will work closely with the Office of Research Programs.

The Bausch and Lomb Library and the Autumn Lane Elementary School Library won awards from the Rochester Regional Library Council’s Library of the Year contest as the best academic/special library and school library respectively. The Honeoye Falls Intermediate School Library was an Honorable Mention.

Ruby Boykins was named the new Director of the Lakeview Public Library.

Michelle Currier was named the new Director of Library Services at SUNY Canton’s Southworth Library.

Fredrick Hager was named the new Executive Director of the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton.

Laura Hawrey was named the new Director of the North Shore Public Library.

Neely McCahey was named the new Director of the Babylon Public Library.

Parker O’Mara is the new Systems Librarian at SUNY Plattsburgh’s Feinberg Library.

Elizabeth Olesh was named the new Assistant Director at the Nassau Library System.

Emily Thompson is the new Instructional Technologies Librarian at SUNY Oswego’s Penfield Library.

Lora Nadolski was named the new Director of Public Programming at the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton.
