Join us at Canandaigua's Inn on the Lake for this one day conference where we will discuss breaking down barriers of all kinds to make libraries more accessible to patrons, whether they are fines, biases, or physical.

Stay Friday night and enjoy lakeside cocktails at the Inn and then dine at the New York Wine & Culinary Center, or another of Canandaigua's many eateries. Saturday, join PLS at the Sonnenberg Garden & Mansion for a walking Tour ($14) and then wine tasting on the Finger Lakes Wine Center ($6 for 5 wines).

About the Speakers

Jessamyn West Librarians and Digital Readiness
Jessamyn has been speaking on the intersection of libraries, technology, and politics since 2003. Her specific areas of interest are the digital divide and its effect on library services, library related legislation, and the use of technology in rural libraries that make the most of small budgets, spaces, and staff. She is the author of Without a Net: Librarians Bridging the Digital Divide and the co-editor of Revolting Librarians Redux: Radical Librarians Speak Out

 

Sady Fischer
Sady is a Queer , feminist, latina speaker who is known for her energy and passion around social justice issues. As a result of her own interesecting identities, she has a strong passion for women, Latinx, and LGBTQ issues. She is a freelance facilitator and speaks to diverse audiences on issues related to unconscious bias, priviledge, race, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Sady has had the honor of presenting at various conferences such as the Upstate Latino Summit, the Latino/Hispanic Health Equity Initiative Statewide Symposium; the YWCA's Stand Against Racism Conference, and at several Diversity Conferences. Most recently, she was one of the keynote speakers at the SUNY Auxiliary Services Association's Conference.
