Empire State Center for the Book Author Luncheon

Looking for a great place to have lunch with authors that will benefit a worthwhile project? Then come to the first annual Empire State Center for the Book  Author Luncheon. The Center has arranged for authors and narrators to come and speak to the group about their works followed by autographing after lunch. Books by these authors will be available for free or at a minimal cost plus additional titles can be purchased at the conference bookstore.

Special Guests

Karen Engelmann is a writer and designer. She was born and raised in the American Midwest, then moved to Sweden after completing university studies in drawing and design. The city of Malmö was home base for eight years, but she now lives just north of NYC.  Her most recent work, The Stockholm Octavo, is due to be released October 2012.

Edward Herrmann’s films include Nixon, The Purple Rose of Cairo, Annie, Intolerable Cruelty, The Aviator, and upcoming, You Are Here with Amy Poehler and Zack Galifianakis. On television’s Gilmore Girls he starred as the patriarch Richard Gilmore. He has also appeared on The Good Wife, Law & Order, 30 Rock, Grey’s Anatomy, and Oz.  He earned an Emmy Award for The Practice, and remains well-known for his Emmy-nominated portrayals of FDR in Eleanor and Franklin and Eleanor and Franklin: The White House Years.  On Broadway, he won a Tony Award for his performance in Mrs. Warren's Profession. Dennis Boutsikaris is a three-time Obie Award®-winning actor. His Broadway and off-Broadway credits include: Brighton Beach Memoirs, Amadeus, Bent, Sight Unseen, Nest of the Wood Grouse, and Julius Caesar. Film and television credits include, The Bourne Legacy, Oliver Stone’s W., *batteries not included, Boys on the Side, Chasing the Dragon, and Love & Betrayal: The Mia Farrow Story (as Woody Allen).  Mr. Boutsikaris is the recipient of multiple audiobook awards, including 6 Audie Awards for his work in narrating over 125 audiobooks for publishers throughout the world. His most recent titles include Neil Gaiman’s American Gods, Philip Roth’s Nemesis, and John Grisham’s The Litigators.
Rosalyn Landor is an English actress. She is best known for her roles on television series on PBS, such as Love in a Cold Climate, Rumpole of the Bailey, C.A.T.S. Eyes , and in the Granada TV adaption of Sherlock Holmes. Her theatre roles include Sorel in Hay Fever by Noel Coward in London’s West End in 1984. She has subsequently worked in the United States in series such as Matlock and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Ms. Landor now lives in Los Angeles, California, where she continues to provide voices for Disney productions and both narrates and directs audiobooks for numerous audiobook publishers. She has received multiple audiobook awards, including the coveted title of 2012 Female Narrator of the Year from the American Publishers Association. Look for Ms. Landor’s narration of P. D.
