Visit Two Special Libraries!

Friday, November 9
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Two unique special libraries are an eight-minute walk from the NYLA conference venue! Both will welcome visitors for an open house.  Informational brochures will be available, and visitors will be able to embark on self-guided tours. It's a chance to gain familiarity with two unique special libraries; resources that may come in handy the next time you encounter a patron interested in legal or musical research.

The Appellate Division Law Library (50 East Ave, Rochester, NY 14604) is the flagship library of the New York State Unified Court System. Featuring 300,000 volumes, it also serves as the primary repository of appellate-level court records in YNS. It is also the only appellate-level court library in NYS that is open to the public.

The Sibley Music Library (27 Gibbs St. Rochester, NY 14604) of the Eastman School of Music is the largest music library affiliated with any college or university (U. of Rochester) in the United States. With holdings of nearly three-quarters of a million items, the Library offers vast resources for performance and research.
