Our goal is to help sustain and improve libraries and library services by providing continuing education opportunities, conference programming, awards, scholarships, advocacy and by supporting key NYLA initiatives. Requests for PLS Programming Support
New York Library Association roundtables and affiliates are eligible to submit a request for conference programming support from PLS. This support is intended to help finance bringing speakers to the annual NYLA conference, or other public library conferences in New York State.

The Public Libraries Section represents the interests and concerns of the public libraries of New York State. Membership is encouraged and open to all interested in the issues confronting the information services and business of publc libraries. This section endeavors to provide continuing education and leadership opportunities that promote and enhance library services. In addition, PLS acts as an advocate for public and political awareness striving towards adequate funding and support.
