PLS Announces Author Author 2014 Speaker

PLS is excited to announce that this year's Author Author event will feature New York Times best-selling Author, Gary Shteyngart.

In his most recent New York Times bestselling and critically acclaimed memoir, Little Failure, Shteyngart shares his American immigrant experience, moving back and forth through time and memory with self-deprecating humor, moving insights, and literary bravado.  The L.A. Times called it an "ecstatic depiction of survival, guilt and perseverance . . . as vivid, original and funny as [anything] contemporary U.S. literature has to offer.”  Shteyngart is also author of the critically acclaimed novels The Russian Debutante’s Handbook, Absurdistan and Super Sad True Love Story.

Shteyngart’s work has appeared in The New Yorker, Travel + Leisure, Esquire, GQ, The New York Times Magazine, and many other publications, and his books have been translated into twenty-six languages. Absurdistan was chosen as one of the 10 best books of the year by The New York Times Book Review and Time magazine. He was named a Granta Best Young American Novelist and a New Yorker “Best Writer Under 40."

Author Author is a NYLA Conference and Trade Show event, and will be held Thursday, November 6 at 5:30-7:30pm at the Saratoga Springs Public Library.  Tickets to this event are $35--the price includes h'orderves from the Bread Basket Bakery and a copy of Little Failure. "
