Join us in learning about The Library Speakers Consortium (LSC) launching in July 2022 - a partnership of public libraries working together to provide consistent bestselling author talk programming to communities of all sizes! The vision is to dramatically expand adult audience access to these programs for all library systems. The Consortium will create 2-3 new bestselling-author events each month that will be live-streamed, including interactive Q&A sessions with patron viewers. Scheduled authors will range in genre from novelists, poets, memoirists, literary fiction, and creative non-fiction writers to career advancement and professional development thought-leaders. The series will offer a diverse mixture of perspectives and a half or more of the event speakers will be women and/or persons of color.

Several unique features of the bestselling author talk series include:

  • Livestreamed on a microsite custom-branded with each library’s unique colors, logos, and photographs
  • Interactive events will allow patrons to type in questions to be answered live-time by the authors
  • Live talks are recorded and will remain archived on the microsite for future on-demand viewing by patrons
  • The license is given to host in-person event screenings to increase foot traffic and for patrons without reliable internet access
  • The platform captures analytics including engagement data, viewer name, email address, live-streamed views, as well as views of archived author talk recording
