Executive Director's Report
"Spring has sprung, and with the changing of the seasons, NYLA is undergoing many changes of its own! This is my first article for the NYLA Voice since taking the role of Executive Director. For those of you who already know me, my enthusiasm is a bottomless well and I am VERY excited about the future of our Association. In this time of renewal and rebirth, I hope we can recognize these changes as opportunities for growth in our collective work and our profession."
From The President
"Greetings from Rochester, Flower City! I am still riding the high from visiting Albany for the official recognition of the week of April 3-9, 2022, as Library Week in the State of New York. Our small but mighty group representing NYLA received a standing ovation in the Assembly (and I got some candy from the big bowl they have in the chambers) and in the Senate, we heard eleven Senators speak about the importance of libraries in their communities and in the state. It was heartwarming and energizing!"
A Note About Appreciating Others
"With any luck, I'm making my point more or less clear. It takes little effort to say a few nice things about people that have helped you out. Maybe this article will encourage someone to share their gratitude with you. Better yet, take this as a prompt to email someone and express some appreciation of your own."
