Executive Director's Report
"The countdown to NYLA Annual Conference 2023 is on and the clock is ticking! We hope you are ready to join our illustrious President Arlene Laverde as we spend 3 days in Saratoga Springs, Reviving, Refreshing, and Rekindling ourselves and our profession. Saratoga is well-known for being the Spa City, and we’re hoping to tap into that relaxing energy in what is proving to be a very challenging year for libraries and library workers all over the state."
Keepin' Up At The Capitol
"With Autumn in full swing and just two and a half months left until the 2024 legislative session, NYLA is busy laying the groundwork for successful advocacy in the coming year! In this edition of Keeping Up at the Capitol, I’ll be taking a minute to update you on the progress of existing efforts, highlight new legislation, and outline NYLA’s 2024 budget priorities and policy initiatives."
The Operations Update
"Leaves are falling and conference preparation is calling! With this year’s event just around the corner, the office has placed a slight pause on the development of our new database to finalize all program details and execute another great event for our membership.
The office will resume the creation and implementation of our new database following the event. Communications will begin to ramp up in November and December as the staff works with our new database support team to finalize all information for our launch in January 2024."
