ILRT Board & Officer Descriptions
Duties of the Officers:
The President shall be responsible for the programs of the Round Table and for NYLA required reports.
In the absence or disability of the President, the Vice-President shall perform the duties and exercise the powers of the President. The Vice-President shall also assist the President and perform such other duties and have such other powers as are prescribed in the Bylaws
The Secretary is responsible for taking accurate minutes of Roundtable meetings and maintaining and disseminating information related to Round Table Activities.
The Treasurer shall responsible for all Round Table funds and shall keep full and accurate account of receipts and disbursements in the books of the Round Table.
The Members at Large work with the other officers to run the various aspects of the Round Table.
Election and Term of Officers:
Officers shall be elected by vote of the Round Table and shall serve until replaced. While there is no fixed appoint term, it is encouraged that there is a reasonable turnover of Officers.
2020 Election Candidate Statements
Amy Handfield is the Assistant Director of Access Services at the O'Malley Library, Manhattan College. Overall, Amy oversees the daily operations of the library facility. She is also involved in reference and instruction and is the liaison librarian to Art, Music, Religious Studies, Philosophy, French, and Italian departments at the college. Additionally, Amy has published numerous CHOICE reviews and her scholarship has been published in the Taylor and Francis Journal of Access Services. She has been acting Treasurer of the NYLA Information Literacy Round Table since 2016.
Since 2005 Kate Erwin has been an academic librarian with an emphasis on information literacy instruction, OER, and reference services. She served most recently as a Substitute Asst. Professor at Bronx Community College Library. She has served as ILRT President since 2016 and as ILRT Conference Curator since 2015 and looks forward to continuing the work to support and promote information literacy within NYLA.
