The Annual Conference and Trade Show held in November is the largest state library association conference on the East Coast. Featuring a wide variety of programs, special events, networking opportunities, and vendor displays, the Annual Conference and Trade Show offers educational opportunities for all segments of the library community.

We offer a range of Briefinars from learning more about local nonprofits and how your library can partner with them to short talk series from Sections and Roundtables. These will always be 30-minute conversations and are free for all. Learn about our current offerings here!
Developing Leaders Program
The Developing Leaders Program (DLP) is a nine-month program (October - June), totaling 37.5 contact hours, which will help participants explore and strengthen their leadership skills. The program will be delivered in a fully virtual model via live online courses through Zoom. Participants will be divided into groups to complete a team-based project. Please stay tuned for updates as we re-launch the program in Fall 2022.
VIRTUAL Library Skills Academy
As of 2021, the Library Skills Academy has been reworked into an online format. The program now consists of 8 90-minute live webinars taking place over the course of 8 consecutive weeks. The program remains open to individuals already working in libraries, or people interested in working in libraries. To receive a certificate of completion, the participant must complete the entire nine-hour program. Please note this program will be rebooted in Fall 2022 and is not currently being offered.
Continuing Teacher & Leader Education (CTLE) or CE (Continuing Education) Credit
Have you recently attended a program that qualifies for CTLE or CE credit?
If you attended a program that qualifies for CTLE Credit: Please fill out a transcript request and scan and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org to ensure you receive CTLE credit. If the NYLA office does not receive your transcript request you will not receive CTLE credit for the workshops you have attended. These CTLE credits will also appear in your NYLA Account under "Personal Details" and then under the "CE Transcript" section.
If you attended a program that qualifies for CE Credit: These credits will automatically appear in your NYLA Account under "Personal Details" and then under the "CE Transcript" section. If you need a physical certificate, please email email@example.com with the name of the program you attended and we can issue you a physical certificate.
Submitting Proposals to Conduct Professional Development Workshops
NYLA accepts proposals from subject-area experts who wish to conduct workshops at our Annual Conference or Professional Development Webinars throughout the year. More information is available on our workshop proposal page.

Attendance at NYLA’s Annual Conference and other professional development opportunities help meet these requirements, plus we keep track of all your NYLA CE hours and can provide you with the documentation you need to keep your certification.
NYLA CE Calendar
Thanks to the efforts of the 2015-2016 NYLA Continuing Education Committee (CEC), an online calendar has been established to serve as a listing for all library-related professional development opportunities. This calendar is designed to distribute and promote programming, as well as to serve as a planning tool to avoid duplication of effort, and conflicts in scheduling.
NYLA is asking that all those who are responsible for organizing professional development activities to add submitting the details to this calendar to their production process.
