NYLA Awards

Thank you for your interest in nominating someone for one of NYLA's Awards! We are excited to announce our NYLA Awards short nomination form to streamline the nomination process. Please fill out the short form by June 15th. After this date, the Executive Committee will review all nominations and a member of the committee will be in contact with you to complete a long form award application. Dewey Fellowships are awarded to three NYLA members, selected by designated Sections, to attend the NYLA Annual Conference.

Intellectual Freedom Award recognizes an individual, group, or organization that furthers the cause of intellectual freedom in New York State.

Mary Bobinski Innovative Public Library Director Award recognizes a public library director who has developed or implemented an innovative program leading to an increase in financial support and/or usage of their library.

NYLA's Above & Beyond Award recognizes and honors and individual who has made significant contributions of recognized service to NYLA and the library profession ten or more years.

Outstanding Service to Libraries Award recognizes and honors an individual who, or a group that, has made a significant, sustained contribution to the development, promulgation, growth or extension of library/information services to the people of NYS or to residents within a designated service area within the State. Recognition may include lifetime NYLA membership, citation, and gift.

Senator Hugh Farley Outstanding Advocate of Libraries Award recognizes and honors an individual who, or a group that, has made a far reaching, sustained contribution to the promotion and/or support of library and information services to the people of New York State or residents within a designated service area within the State. Recognition may include lifetime NYLA membership, citation, and gift.
