In writer-director Emilio Estevez’ second feature film, a group of homeless people in dire need of shelter during a deadly winter cold snap stage an occupation in downtown Cincinnati . The Public is a tragi-comic story revolving around some of our nation's most challenging issues, including homelessness, mental illness, polarized government, and slanted news coverage, set inside one of the last bastions of democracy-in-action: the public library.
Screening at the Bow Tie Cinemas Criterion 11 theater at 7:00PM on Wednesday, November 13, to coincide with Homeless Awareness Month and the first night of the 2019 New York Library Association Conference in Saratoga Springs.
