NYS Library Aid FY 2018-2019 - Needs Your Support!

SPEAK UP FOR LIBRARY FUNDING!
Reject Governor Cuomo’s devastating cuts to library funding, and reject his continued inequitable treatment of library funding as part of the state’s education spending.

The Governor’s budget proposes a +3% increase in education funding, but cuts library aid by -4%. These cuts would leave library funding at year-2000 levels, and for the eleventh consecutive year, would leave library funding far short of what Education Law mandates.

TAKE ACTION NOW and tell the Governor and the Legislature that library aid should be INCREASED, not CUT. State Education Law mandates Library Aid be $102.6M for the upcoming year – and since 2007, more than $115M in state library funding has been withheld.

NOW IS THE TIME TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! Take a few seconds - tell Albany NO MORE CUTS TO LIBRARY FUNDING!

Use our pre-drafted letter to voice your support for fully funding NYS Library Aid in the FY 2018-2019 Budget.  After you submit your name and address you will have the opportunity to view and EDIT our pre-drafted letter.  Our system determines your elected representatives based on your address, and submits your message directly to their inbox.
