Literacy Award
With the generous support of David Rubenstein and the Library of Congress, the Empire State Center for the Book is administering a state literacy award program. Libraries in New York are invited to submit nominations from 12/14/15-2/26/16 for this award which will be given to a not-for-profit organization whose literacy project delivers impact through partnership within the New York State library community.
A panel of judges will read the nominations and select an award winner. The winner will be notified on 4/30/16. The award will be accompanied by a check for $500 to support the work of the literacy project and will be presented at the New York State Writers Hall of Fame Induction Gala on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Applicants should be aware that their presence is required at the gala, in New York City, at the Princeton Club. The winner and his/her nominator will be the guests of the Empire State Center for the Book. Unfortunately, the Center for the Book cannot underwrite travel expenses.
