NYLA is pleased to announce the following special events taking place

NYLA Community Conversations
with the Continuing Education and Membership Committees

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Building on the recently adopted Strategic Vision Statement, NYLA invites all members to participate in one of two focus groups helping to advance two of NYLA's Guiding Principles:

1. The NYLA Continuing Education Committee will lead a discussion on the principle "NYLA advances excellence in New York libraries"
2. The NYLA Membership Committee will lead a discussion on the principle "NYLA enhances member engagement"

Outcomes from these working group conversations will inform NYLA's planning and activities for the coming year.

A ticket to the Library Advocates Luncheon is provided at no cost to those participating in the Community Conversations.

Library Advocates Luncheon

Share lunch with your fellow advocates.
This plated luncheon will take place at the Hilton Albany from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
Preregistration is required. Space is limited.
Tickets to the luncheon are $15 per person.

Dealing with the Media: Ummmm.... There's a Reporter on the Phone

3:30 PM - 5:00 PM (1.5 CE Contact Hour)

Gain insights and useful strategies for working with reporters, including how to handle yourself during an interview and how to make YOUR points heard.  Plus tips on how to build relationships with the media, and get your press releases noticed.
