Are you looking to hit the ground running with a new Summer VolunTeen program this year? Or are you seeking some guidance as you restructure your existing VolunTeen program? Join Chrissie Morrison -- presenter of the VolunTeens 101 CE at the 2015 NYLA Annual Conference -- for a crash course in recruiting, training, utilizing, and retaining teen volunteers at your library. Chrissie will cover both formal and informal VolunTeen programs that can be adapted to fit school or public libraries of any size.
Learning objectives. At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will:
- know a variety of methods for recruiting VolunTeens
- know methods for training VolunTeens (both one-on-one and in a group)
- know methods for scheduling and communicating with VolunTeens
- understand how to use a VolunTeen Program to support and/or expand existing library services
- understand how to retain VolunTeens though recognition, appreciation, and communication

Registration for each is $25 for NYLA members and $35 for non-members. You must be logged in to receive membership pricing.

Group viewing registration is available if you plan to share the webinar with a group. Hook up the LCD projector and share the program with a group of staff members! The group viewing rate is $75 for NYLA members and $98 for non-members.

Chrissie Morrison is the outgoing Past President of the Youth Services Section of NYLA and the former Tween & Teen Librarian at the East Greenbush Library. In addition to her frequent presentations for library systems and associations within NY State, Chrissie has written articles about teen programming and VolunTeens for YALS and VOYA, and was even selected to present the Missouri State Library's Teen Summer Reading Workshops.
