2017 NYS Writers for Hall of Fame Named

Noted writers Ron Chernow, William Kennedy, Suzan-Lori Parks and Lillian Ross are among the eight members of the 2017 Class of Inductees into the NYS Writers Hall of Fame.  The induction will be on Monday, June 5, 2017, at the Princeton Club of New York.  In addition, four deceased writers: Alexander Hamilton, Christopher Morley, Walter Dean Myers, and Frederick Law Olmsted will be inducted. 

NYLA Honors Elmira with Literary Landmark for Mark Twain 

On May 3, 2017 athe Center for the Book in cooperation with United for Libraries will dedicate a Quarry Farm in Elmira, NY a Literary Landmarks in honor of Mark Twain. He summered there for many years and had a writing studio at the farm.
