Social Responsibilities Roundtable

Late in 1999, the NYLA Council approved the formation of a Social Responsibilities Round Table, making New York one of three states whose own library association has such a round table.

Purpose of the Social Responsibilities Round Table:

"To educate our Colleagues on how our professional activities, work habits and physical operations affect the community.

"To promote social justice, democracy and progressive priorities for the Association, for the profession and for those we serve in our professions."
