Legal Assistance:
IFRT created the Legal Assistance Network (LAN) in cooperation with the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) to provide pro bono legal advice on First Amendment issues. A statewide network of NYCLU attorneys can provide assistance to librarians and libraries faced with concerns about censorship, freedom of information, confidentiality, and facilities use. NYLA members in good standing may submit requests to the NYLA Executive Director.
