She also advocated successfully for statewide virtual reference in Illinois. Since her arrival in New York State, she has visited with legislators, written letters, participated in various statewide efforts, and organized a pre-lobby day webcasted advocacy program featuring Michael Borges. Nora Fitzgerald Hardy (M.L.S. University at Albany) is the Assistant Director and Manager of Council Programs at SCRLC. She has participated in advocacy efforts on behalf of the library community and brought continuing education opportunities to regional library staff members for the past nine years. Before joining SCRLC, she was Corporate Librarian for New York State Electric and Gas Corp., providing research, library services, and Internet training to employees throughout NYS.
