Bound to Stay Bound Books Scholarship March 1 $6,500 ALSC Bound to Stay Bound Books Scholarship is made possible by the Association for Library Service to Children funded by Bound-to-Stay Bound Books, Inc.
Christian (Chris) Larew Memorial Scholarship in Library and Information Technology March 1 $3,000 The LITA/Christian (Chris) Larew Memorial Scholarship is designed to encourage the entry of qualified persons into the library and information technology field.
Christopher Hoy/ERT Scholarship March 1 $5,000 Named for a long time ALA staff member, who was director of the ALA Conference Services Office for over 20 years. This was established with donations from Christopher J. Hoy and the Exhibits Round Table (ERT) to honor his memory.
David H. Clift Scholarship March 1 $3,000 Named for a former director of the American Library Association.
Frederic G. Melcher Scholarship March 1 $6,000 ALSC Frederic G. Melcher Scholarship is made possible by contributions from librarians, professional associated and others in the book world in tribute to Frederic G. Melcher.
LITA/LSSI Minority Scholarship in Library and Information Technology March 1 $2,500 The LITA/LSSI Minority Scholarship, established in 1994, is awarded annually by the Library and Information Technology Association, a division of the American Library Association, and Library Systems and Services, Inc.
LITA/OCLC Minority Scholarship in Library and Information Technology March 1 $3,000 The LITA/OCLC Minority Scholarship, established in 1991, is awarded jointly annually by OCLC, Inc. and the Library and Information Technology Association, a division of the American Library Association.
Marshall Cavendish Scholarship March 1 $3,000 Established with donations from the Marshall Cavendish Corporation, Tarrytown, N.Y., publishers of illustrated reference books for libraries.
Mary V. Gaver Award March 1, each year $3,000 Established to honor the memory of a past ALA president and Rutgers University professor who made many contributions in library youth services.
Miriam L. Hornback Award March 1, each year $3,000 Named for a long time ALA staff member (1944-1991) who was secretariat to the ALA Council and Executive Board. This award aims to encourage library support staff currently working in a library who wish to pursue an MLS, MLIS or MIS degree.
MLA/NLM Spectrum Scholarship March 1, each year $6,500 The Medical Library Association (MLA) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM) jointly sponsor two scholarships through the American Library Association (ALA) Spectrum Initiative Scholarship program. The two organizations make a total annual donation of $6,500 each year to support minority students in their goals to become health sciences information professionals.
Tom and Roberta Drewes Scholarship March 1, each year $3,000 Established with a donation from the founder of Quality Books. This scholarship aims to award library support staff currently working in a library who wish to pursue an MLS, MLIS or MIS degree.
Tony B. Leisner Scholarship March 1, each year $3,000 Established with a donation from an active ALA member and former member of the ALA Council. This scholarship aims to award library support staff currently working in a library who wish to pursue an MLS, MLIS or MIS degree.
Blanche E. Woolls Scholarship March 15, each year $1,500 The Woolls scholarship is awarded to a student beginning library and information studies at an ALA accredited school with the intention of pursuing a career in school library media service.
Eugene Garfield Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship March 15, each year $3,000 This fellowship is awarded to library and information science doctoral students who are working on their dissertations.
Frank B. Sessa Scholarship for Continuing Professional Education March 15, each year $1,250 The Scholarship gives very low priority to those applicants who are pursuing a formal degree program.
Harold Lancour Scholarship for Foreign Study March 15, each year $1,500 This scholarship is awarded to librarians or library/information studies school students to survey foreign libraries or programs, attend a foreign library school, and/or to do research in a foreign country.
REFORMA Scholarship TBA $1,500

Applicants must show evidence of commitment to a career in librarianship and the potential for high academic standing. Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of and desire to serve the Spanish- speaking community. The recipients must display character and leadership, which are essential for success both as a student and as a professional. 

Sarah Rebecca Reed Scholarship March 15, each year $2,000 Beta Phi Mu awards this scholarship to a student beginning library or information studies at an ALA accredited school.
